Government may ban official communication via Gmail!


To ensure security for confidential government information and to prevent hacking of Government websites Indian Government may ban the use of Gmail for Official purpose. Gmail is the well known service which is use for sending, receiving emails. As per The Economic Times report, the government is going to plan send a formal notification almost 5 lakh Government Employees. The Gmail Servers are located outside India, which is biggest threat of Information lick age.

J Satyanarayana, Secretary, department of electronics and information technology said "Data if Indian users reside in other countries as the servers are located outside. Currently, we are looking to address this in the government domain where there are large amounts of critical data."
